_ 機龍警察読了
ハヤカワKindleポイント還元セールで購入した機龍警察を読了。
読んでいる間は先が楽しみで、おもしろかったが、その一方で非常に複雑な嫌な気持ちにもなる。
まず、テンポ良く、次々に事件が起き、単なる日常風景の描写でも退屈させない工夫はあるし、小説としては文句なくおもしろかったのは事実だ。
でも、これって全然SFでもなんでもないよ。
どちらかというと、警察組織の中で孤立した部署の中でさらに個人的な心の闇によって孤立した人々が黙々と仕事をするという、なんというか、ビジネス小説みたいなものだ。しかも、孤立しているのに、すぐに使命感を高く掲げるので、読んでいて嘘くさくてたまらない（いや、もしかすると、この部分がSFなのかも知れない）。
そのため、時々、体言止めを多用した妙に感傷的な記述方法が続くところがあって、そういうところは非常に鼻白む。
いや、確かに性格分けもうまくいっている。
機龍という早い話がモビールスーツの搭乗者は、軽口をぽんぽん叩く傭兵のとっぽい日本人と、過去にモスクワ市警で何かいやなことがあったらしき金髪碧眼の非常にまじめで義理堅いロシア人、IRAの未来組織の抜け忍みたいな死にたがり（自分が死にたいくらいなので他人の死についても平気）の女テロリスト（この女が出てくると、すぐにバッハのG線上のアリアがどうしたみたいなBGMが流れて、これもちょっと気恥ずかしい）、それと謎に満ちた高級官僚の組織者、優秀な警察官僚、メガネっ子の女科学者（モビールスーツの責任者）、まあうまくできている。
いや、もうここまで書いただけで、軽口をぽんぽん叩くとっぽい中国人と、くそまじめなレーサーの死にぞこない（TV版009の島村ジョーみたいだ）の日本人、情け容赦ないパレスチナ人の女テロリストと、謎の高級官僚っぽい組織者の顔が浮かんで、これってデスハンターじゃんという気分になってくる。
で、デスハンターは宇宙人からの侵略から地球を防衛するというようなお題目はあるが、実際には単に自分が生き延びるために戦う物語（＋ディックのような実存的問題）なので、余計な能書きが付かない分、実に気分が良いのだが、こちらは同じようなシチューエーションでも市民を守る我々警察はぁーみたいなお題目が常に出てくるので、どうにもノリが悪い。
とは言え、中学生の頃に読んだら、確実にはまって続編も買って読むだろうなぁ。

アマゾン評を眺めると、おもしろかったが……みたいなのが多いから、多分、同じように何か欠落しているものを感じるのだろう。（で、その欠落を警察という組織のお話で埋めようとしているのかも知れない）
まあ、暇つぶしの娯楽作品としては良い出来だと思った。
で、続きを読むかどうかは迷うところだ。
デスハンターは比較的薄いハヤカワJAだったけど、なんか2分冊に増えているから、むしろこっちを読み直してみようかな（多分、がっかりしそうな予感がある）。

_ 続きを買ってしまった
FBではma2さんから三冊目（まだ読んでいないけど）を読むために読んでるんだと言われるし、ぽっぺんさんからも2巻から大化けとツッコまれるし、おもしろかったのは事実なので、続きも買ってしまった。
で、ふと調べると、元々ぽっぺんさんの書評（1冊目と2冊目）を読んでおもしろそうだと思っていたことを思い出したのだった。

（Kindle化リクエストを受け付けているがなんのことはなく、文庫版のほうでKindle化されているのだが、どうもアマゾンはこういうツメが甘い）

面倒なんで、一気に3巻（これもKindle版）も買ってしまった。
機龍警察 暗黒市場(月村 了衛)(ここには『紙の本の長さ： 167 ページ』と書いてあるので、ずいぶん薄い本だなと思ったが、実際の紙の本を見ると『単行本: 416ページ』と書いてあって、むちゃくちゃだ）
あー、こんなことなら、ポイント還元セール中にまとめて購入しておくんだった。
それにしても、物理的な場所を取らないというのは相当に書籍購入の心理的障壁が低くなってよくないな。

機龍警察は、私も1巻でいまいちと感じたクチなんですが、2巻から大化けして、個人的にすごくオススメな作品になっています。機会があれば、ぜひ。<br><br>ただ、SFではないですよね(作者もSFとは思ってないそうですがｗ)。
